The bypolls will be a mandate against the policies of Prime Minister Modi: Pratibha Singh
Pratibha Singh, congressional candidate for the parliamentary constituency of Mandi and wife of former chief minister the late Virbhadra Singh, said on Friday that bypolls in Himachal Pradesh and other states in the country would be a mandate against politicians from the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi didn’t care about the locals. This was evident from rising prices, unemployment and autocratic policies as no relief was brought to the common man, Singh said at a public meeting in Rampur in Shimla district, which was part of the parliamentary constituency of Mandi.
She said she used to get the support of former CM Virbhadra Singh while touring Rampur’s assembly segment as he was accompanying her and now not only her, but everyone. State was missing his absence.
âI and my family will follow in his footsteps and serve the people of the state as Virbhadra Singh did during his lifetime.
Singh used to understand the pain and problems of the common man and the poor in the state. He used to stay ready to serve the poor and needy, whether it was day or night, âshe added.
She said the Congress Party nominated her as a candidate for the Mandi parliamentary constituency which she had represented in the past and that it was thanks to the efforts of Virbhadra Singh that enabled the constituency to develop.
Pratibha Singh accused the BJP of playing the politics of regionalism and lies and said the real face of the ruling party is now on display in front of the people.
âThe Central government has not entered into talks with farmers who have been protesting on the roads for the past 10 months and it has not even brought relief to the common man amid the Covid pandemic.
In Himachal, apple growers bear the brunt of the bad policies of the BJP government, âshe added.
