How We Operate
Most projects begin with a design drawn to scale. A design helps
both you, the client, and the designer, and ultimately the
installer, visualize the project and agree on the details. As your
Seattle landscape design contractor, we feel
that it's important to listen to you, our customers, and work with
you to develop a landscape plan that will fulfill your objectives.
Our designs are drawn to scale, showing the names and locations of
all plants and architectural features.
Rodda and Sons bases
our design fees on $60.00/hour: these include measuring the site and
laying it out on paper to scale, rough sketch overlays of ideas, a
final plan with all features and plants labeled, and a consultation
to explain the plan with pictures of plants and materials suggested.
A large project may need additional consultations at the rough
sketch stage to get your reaction and feedback. We quote a design
fee after we get a feel for the scope of your project on the initial
visit. (We are not doing "design only" projects at this time.)
Landscape Design Professional in Seattle and Burien, WA
Rodda and Sons,
(renowned landscaper in Burien and Seattle, Washington) provides bids to install any or all phases of projects that we have
designed and is happy to bid on projects designed by other designers
and architects. Our crews are experienced in installing most hardscaping materials, pavers, retaining materials, deck materials,
rock, sprinkler systems, etc. in additional to lawns and plants. We
select materials and plants that perform well in the Seattle
climate. We
seldom subcontract work, preferring to "do it ourselves." Rodda and
Sons guarantees plants that we provide and plant and materials and
workmanship for one year.
Our crews can install
most facets of a landscape project, including lawns, trees, shrubs
and groundcovers, all year long. Winter is actually a great time to
plant. The plant material is usually dormant, so it doesn't suffer
as much transplant stress. Fall and winter rains keep the root
systems moist so that roots start to become established before the
summer dry season.
Our main concern is
that you are pleased with the results of our work, and that the
landscaping enhances your outdoor living areas.
